About the League & Guidelines
Team Tennis Junior League

PC Area: Fall 2017 Season

Pinellas County Area
Team Tennis Junior League is a tennis league developed for kids ages 8-18 years.

TTJL offers an excellent way to challenge and motivate kid’s to play tennis in a fun and supervised environment. Tennis professionals and/or facility staff are on hand for tennis matches to manage activity.

League structure is arranged by skill level for kids beginning, intermediate and advanced levels. Several divisions are offered by age and experience levels. (Your coach will detemine team creation and player placement for each of their teams created for their facility).

Each facilitity may have several teams in one or several divisions, teams are formed with 6 to 8 players. Players will be assigned to a team created by the Tennis Coach or Tennis Director for each cluster of players. A facility could be a private tennis club, public recreation center or tennis facility, or a private residential community.

If your tennis facility is not currently a participating site, have your tennis pro or facility manager contact us, it's easy to register your facility, and there are many benefits from this program. League Coordinator for your area is Liz Schroeder, contact via email.

Each season, registered teams will play against other registered teams, within their division, within their league area. (As long as the appropriate quantity of teams in the same league area and division participate, otherwise the areas are expanded to include more areas.)

Each team has 6 team matches guaranteed with a season ending playoffs. (Number of teams that qualify for playoffs are based on the number of teams in that division, approx 25% to 35% of teams in each division will play in the playoffs).

All league season participants receive League t-shirt.

3 of your 6 matches will be scheduled at your home courts and 3 of your 6 matches will be held at the opposing teams tennis facility. Home team facility provides 2 cans of balls per total team match.

The game format will vary based on the division your team is in. Match times may vary so refer to your teams specific match schedule. See your team formats, dates and times on your own teams match schedule. This is located in the "teams spot", as well as in your "parents spot".

Each team match consist of four singles mini-matches and two doubles mini matches. Play is set-up according to player line-up -order of skill (#1, #2, #3, #4) for both singles and doubles. Line-up should be given to the teams captain by the coach each week - this is one of the captains duties on away matches, to bring the player line-up and a scoecard (download & print from this site). Use scorecard/game format according to division.

League play is held on Sunday's.

B Level: Beginning or Limited Competition/Experience
A Level: Intermediate Competition/Experience
